BIOGRAPHY

Tanesha was born overdue but with no complications until her first birthday. The night of her first birthday she was playing and then fell to the ground and when I got up to her she was lying on the ground as stiff as a board with her back arched. We called the ambulance who took us to the hospital and told me that she was just breath holding, when
she had come out of it she went to sleep for 3 hours and when she woke up she was really unstable for about the next 24 hours.

This went on for about 6 months in which she had probably had 10 fits and each time the doctors just told us that she was breath holding then one day I thought it's more than that and visited another doctor who also thought that it was more than that and sent her to a peadiatrician who sent her for tests and a pedeiatric neurologist who decided that she
was taking fits and was started on medication. We also went to Brisbane where she had a MRI which revealed that the front left middle gyri had never formed completely. Which is why she was taking fits. She may or may not grow out of it.

Since then we have regular blood tests to make sure there are no side effects to the medication and that she is getting enough. She also has EEG's which monitor the brain waves and she has had them show irregular waves on that side of her brain so that just confirms the MRI results.

Tanesha at the moment, after trying many medicines and mixing some, have found
2 that are working to cease them so hopefully as she grows she will grow out of them. Today she is 4 years old and happy and very keen to start Prep next year.
