To everyone involved in making Sophie's quilt my heartfelt thanks

Each square was wonderful and I can truly say I felt all the love for Sophie in each one. It was such a pleasure to be able to put the quilt together for my darling granddaughter and I know her family thought it was just wonderful. Sophie is seeing more colours now so I know her quilt will help her this way too. She is such an inspiration and has a determination I cannot describe, she is my angel.

BIOGRAPHY

Born full term Sophie was only 5lb 2oz. On Day 3 they discovered a liver function problem and she underwent numerous blood tests and an ultrasound. Day 7, Sophie was diagnosed with Cytomegalovirus(CMV) and had an MRI when she was 5 months old, this confirmed Polymicrogyria (PMG) brain malformation, as a result of CMV.
Sophie has epilepsy, cortical blindness, unilateral hearing loss and spastic quadriplegia. This results in ongoing therapies (Physio, Occupational and Speech) as well as many visits to the Children’s Hospital.
Through all these complications Sophie shows determination and is an inspiration to us all.
