Biography

Rose was born at 30 weeks gestation after my waters broke at 24 weeks. She was diagnosed before birth with having Down Syndrome.

 Upon birth she was diagnosed with having an asd – a hole in her heart (which has since shown to grow bigger with closure set for school time, so about a year and a half). Rose stayed in hospital for twelve weeks before coming home.

At six months of age Rose did not recover from an operation on her ears very well and was put on home oxygen, she has been on home oxygen ever since, but the last year has been night time only. In 2011 Rose was diagnosed with pulmonary hypoplasia a condition we were told will deteriorate and does not get better.

Despite everything Rose has going on she is such a happy and social little girl with a lovely nature.
