~ Thank You Message ~

We wish to thank you and your lovely stitchers for the Quilt Ronald received.  Ronald goes in for more surgery on the 19th December.

We will take a photo of Ronald with the quilt, we had taken some off him receiving it from Mandy, which was a lovely touch.

I will be back in contact shortly, just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how much he loved it, he has taken it to school to show his class.

BIOGRAPHY

Ronald is 10 years old and was born under emergency circumstances, and airlifted to another hospital. He came through and when home, we noticed that he was having difficulties reaching his goals. Under physiotherapy and pediatricians from 6 weeks of age, they were able to officially diagnosis Ronald with Cerebral Palsy. It has been a struggle for him to reach goals other children achieved with ease. He is a bright boy, and his body lets him down.

Ronald is unable to walk unaided and has no speech; he is attending a normal school and loves it. He has had several visits to hospitals and major hip surgery to try and give him a chance to walk. We don’t know if he will ever have the ability to talk, he can let us know what he wants through his word list and pecs cards.

Ronald this past year has achieved a couple of milestones; he has been able to take 5 steps which is fantastic. Ronald through a kind donation has received a special needs bike, which has meant he can do something like a normal kid and his brother and sister. Ronald is due for more surgery which will be another setback for awhile. We treasure every moment with him and love him to bits, he is a happy bright boy. He loves watching sports he loves cricket and golf, and cooking shows.

We can never be sad or feel we have been hard done by, because when he smiles and giggles and is happy, what right do we have to be sad. He is our ray of sunshine and we love him.

Sandra ~ Ronald’s mum.
