                                BIOGRAPHY

Noah was born at 36 weeks and weighed 4lb 3oz. Within his first 24 hours he became very jaundice as there is no Special Care Nursery at the local hospital, we were transferred to a larger hospital by ambulance  02-06-07 afternoon. He was put under the lights and rather than the jaundice being corrected he began to turn a green/grey colour. The paediatrician told us this bronze baby effect can indicate an underlying problem with his liver. Liver function tests and an ultrasound confirmed this.

We were than flown to Brisbane in the RFDS on the 05-06-07 after three days of tests we were told our beautiful little son had Alagille Syndrome. It is amazing how quickly you learn about liver disease once it is thrust upon you! It is definitely a positive when complete strangers are so kind and generous thank you and thank you to the other parents of liver kids I have been in contact with!
