BIOGRAPHY

After 9 years of trying to fall pregnant we were finally blessed with Jade who was born and had a normal delivery.

At eight weeks of age we noticed she wasn’t looking at us when taking photos. We took her to the doctors who told us the devastating news that she had no vision. At approx. 12 wks she had a Cat scan which diagnosed a rare congenital disease called Lebers Congenital Amarousis.

At Eighteen Months she had a Urinary Tract infection and upon ultrasound and blood tests Doctors discovered Abnormal kidneys.

By the age of 5 she needed dialysis and proceeded to her 1st transplant at 6 years old thanks to her grandmother.

She got sick again and at age 11 her kidney failed and she needed dialysis again. Luckily at age 12 she received another kidney from an unknown donor.

Now at age 15 her kidney appears to be failing again.

Jade is also developmentally delayed in areas of learning at school, this is part of her diagnosis. She does display normal social skills and is very funny.
