BIOGRAPHY

Emily was born a week late, a normal baby, but when she was 16 months old she had trouble breathing so we took her to Toowoomba Base Hospital.

The doctors did an xray that showed a very large heart so they booked us in to go to the Prince Charles Hospital the next morning. The doctors did lots of xrays and found out the arterys were on the wrong side of the heart.

The doctor was going to do the operation to fix this on the Wednesday but did the operation on Thusday instead. If Emily didn't have the op she
would have died within 2 days. She had the op and her heart was 5 times larger than normal.

 Emily went home within 3 weeks, she is on a new
drug to help her heart to improve and we are hoping she doesn't need a new heart later.

  Thank you for sending the quilt. I couldn't believe how big it is and now it is on Emily's bed. The people who made the quilt did a beautiful job. Emily is going great, she is on a heart drug to improve her heart, she has checkups every 6 months and her heart is improving. Emily is a fighter.      Lots of love ~ Mandy, Emily’s mum.
