BIOGRAPHY
Eli started having epileptic seizures just prior to his 5th birthday. We didn’t know what they were, but at his fifth birthday party the intensity and regularity increased significantly, so we took him to hospital thinking that he probably had epilepsy.
After an MRI scan he was diagnosed with a tumour. He had surgery to remove the tumour, and the pathology report confirmed a malignant tumour.
He has since had a course of radiation therapy which finished just prior to Christmas, and has just started a program of chemotherapy (which will last until September this year). He has scans each three months to see what the tumour is doing, so we are continuing to pray for him.
His response has been pretty good (a 5 yr old does not know what cancer means). In some ways, it is pretty good to be somewhat ignorant, and that probably works in his favour. He shuts down emotionally whenever we talk doctors, and whenever he visits the hospital, but I can understand that as he has been there often.
