BIOGRAPHY

Breeanna was born seemingly healthy and at 4 months of age she went into a coma.

Bree was then diagnosed with 'Ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency', A metabolic disorder that was fatal if not treated with a strict routine of medications and  protein restrictions. Bree suffered seizures, cortical blindness & brain injury because of high levels of blood ammonia. I thank God that Bree was able to create an alternative pathway in her brain that would enable her to see a few months later because her stem cells were still active.

At 2yrs Bree refused all foods and medications and had a tube inserted into her stomach, however she was still very unstable and I was faced with losing her again. The only thing that could save my precious girl was a liver transplant.
Bree received that special gift when she was 2 1/2 yrs old although it wasn't easy as Bree had a cardiac arrest, renal failure, respiratory failure, pulmonary oedema, chronic rejection, blood clots,  burst arteries and part of the liver had died and it needed re grafting. Breeanna gave a huge fight and after 8 months in hospital I was blessed to take her home.

Life was somewhat stable but every now and then her liver had a few problems. All the initial trauma had damaged Bree's new liver and Bree is now suffering from liver failure and as a result of living with a chronic illness my precious 9yr old girl is suffering from osteoporosis with fractures in her spine, portal hypertension which has caused massive bleeds that have put her in ICU, slow growth, toxins that have caused encephalopathy, fatigue, malnutrition...the list could go on.

Bree is now re-listed for transplant, I have been told by her treating Dr that she needs a transplant to survive but she may not survive the operation. Bree has been through so much all she knows how to do is fight so she will continue to fight for her life.

Bree has an almost 2yr old brother 'Charlie' who adores her.
