BIOGRAPHY
Three weeks before my 2 year old was diagnose with insulin dependant Type 1 Diabetes, she and her two sisters got the flu. We had just gotten her over the flu and I noticed she was drinking a lot of water.
We took her to the doctors and spent the next 10 days in Hospital on the roller coaster ride from hell. I realise now that having diabetes, which is classed as a chronic illness, can be lived with.
We have re-organised our family and our lives and undertaken the steepest learning curve of our lives. Due to the time required to manage type 1 diabetes in a child so young I have given up work to care for my daughter.
My family and I look forward to the day a cure is found for an illness that has changed the lives of my whole family.
