BIOGRAPHY
Alexandria was born via C-sec, she just stayed transverse so there was no choice in the end. A healthy 6lb 8 oz. and 2 weeks early.
She was a healthy happy child and never showed signs of being unwell. In march 2009 after we moved to QLD I noticed an unusual lump on her upper right side just under the rib cage.
As we still had no family Dr it was hard to get in but we finally got seen on a Sunday at the local clinic. The Dr told us it was a tumor of the liver (tumor being a lump and could just be fat etc) so a scan was done the next day. The Ultrasound tech was worried and bought in someone else so we knew it was not good. By 1pm we were at the Brisbane Mater Hospital and by 8.30pm that night we were at the Royal Childrens as this is where the Childrens Oncology department is.
They assured us it was not the liver but the kidney and a Wilms ( this being the better diagnoses as if any cancer can be good). Alex lost her right Kidney, Adreanal gland and a small sliver of her liver. She has nodes near the aorta that are in-operable, she underwent Chemo for 8 months including 4 weeks Radiation. She finished treatment on the 23rd November 2009, the nodes are stable and we just hope they stay that way... http://mazzmerise.blogspot.com/ this is her mummies blog to keep family updated etc...
