‘Adam’s quilt is now closed to stitchers.’

Adam’s favourite colours are blue, red and yellow. His favourite things are: jumping on the trampoline, singing and he loves animals especially dogs. 

Adam lives in Queensland.

BIOGRAPHY

Adam did not respond well when spoken to at the early age of a few months old. Doctors diagnosed Adam at the age of almost 2 years as ‘Moderately Autistic with Intellectual Disorders’.

 Adam goes to a Special School and tries hard to learn , learning to swim etc. Adam loves catching the bus to school. He likes to travel and visit relatives. 

He does not like crowded places, they send him into a panic with screaming and hiding himself close to me or holding his ears tightly to drain out noises, which is another way of ‘hiding away’. 

Adam is limited with what he will eat and drink and has to have iron supplements and vitamins to aide with staying healthy. 

Adam knows some hand signing so when he cannot communicate with speech he will hand sign instead. Adam’s speech is very good but when nervous or scared etc., he will hand sign. 

Adam has been attending school since he was very young, 2 1/2 years old, to help him learn to cope and exist in our world as his world, as autistic, is very different.
